We are please to announce the opening day of 2023 season and will be open from 11am today, Saturday 29th April 2023 with the last tee time at 7pm.
As mentioned in our previous update this will be a transition year and we do have damage to many greens following the very wet winter and also animal damage, as such we will have up to 4 temporary green in play and will have at least two more to rebuild as we proceed through the year.
We apologise for any inconvenience and detraction from your round.
This is the current 2023 season update on the course and potential opening date.
Following the very wet winter months we are working hard to get the course open for the Easter holidays. Please check back regularly to our website news page or follow us on our Facebook and Instagram Social Media to get an regular 2023 Season update on our possible opening date.
It will be ‘Transition Year’ at Sandfield Pitch and Putt this year. We continue the work to add 3 new holes on the hill around the lake. There is also work ongoing to create a new green which will extend the length of the13th Hole all with a view to opening the ‘new’ course for the start of the 2024 season. Extensive ground works are ongoing to improve drainage on the course. We are also creating a new toilet facility halfway around the course. We are also adding New Artificial Turf Tee Mats to holes continuing on the work from from last year.
We at Sandfield Pitch and Putt would like to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2023.
As we look forward to to 2023 we look forward to it being a transition year for Sandfield Pitch and Putt as we start to develop the new holes in order to make way for improvements to the existing and hopefully new facilities in the future.
Dessie McNern is finishing the season in fine form, in addition to picking up the Gary McNern Memorial Trophy last week he managed to record a new low score of 47 on Saturday for the 2022 season and in doing so joins the Sandfield Pitch and Putt ‘Magnificent 7 Under Par Club’. Dessie’s card included a hole in one on the 2nd Hole and 7 Birdies on a weekend where there were a total of 4 aces on different holes.

As we head towards the end of the 2022 Season it’s that time of year again to award the Gary McNern Memorial Trophy.
This years winner was Dessie McNern who takes the trophy back this year from Mark.

We were pleased to welcome back Charlie and the Loughros Beg Oyster guys for their 2022 team outing at Sandfield pitch and Putt.
You don’t need to go to Galway Races to see the best hats in Ireland, just come to Sandfield Pitch and Putt as Jack Lough proved last week sporting this great Golf Green beret. This has to be the best Golf hat ever.
We were very pleased to welcome back to Sandfield Pitch and Putt the Dublin County Football Team Manager Dessie Farrell and family.
On Saturday we has a new low score of 48 posted to end the month. Congratulations to Shaun Meehan who posted a 6 under Par 48 including 8 birdies to knock 3 shots off the previous best.
Still waiting for our first Magnificent 7 Under of 2022…
